NBA's David Stern Is an Idiot

Update: 7:46 a.m., May 17: In what I find to be a bit of hilarity, keyword analysis shows lots of traffic coming to this blog off the search terms "David Stern idiot." Hilarious. Mr. Stern, you have lost this public relations battle. Poorly played.

Listening to David Stern try to defend the suspension of the Phoenix Suns' Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw made me lose any respect that I had for the man.

The Spurs have played a cheap series, and their cheap shot led to Stoudemire and Diaw walking toward injured teammate Steve Nash.

No punches were thrown.

San Antonio loses a bit player for two games.

Phoenix loses an all-NBA star and his backup for a pivotal game 5 tonight.

This is insanity.

The criminal is rewarded, and the victim is punished.

It's wrong, and a real leader would have made it right.

Calling Horry a bit player is a little off, considering his playoff "clutchness" throughout his career. But... considering he's only scoring less than 4 ppg this season, it's not a major loss.

I agree, the Suns came out of this being punished for doing virtually nothing.

Hey, the Cavs are currently down 17 in the 4th. They have no excuse. They just find it fun to ruin a perfectly winnable series.

Stu Jackson and David Stern, I too will not watch NBA anymore…. this suspension was a joke. ” Doing what is correct”? You mean following the letter of the law without room for interpretation? something like that? Horrible. You are tripping on your own rules. I’d rather watch a hockey game. In hockey the players fight, the anger is left on the ice and problems solve themselves. You guys thiink you guys are doing whats right but you must be fair. Surely you understand and can see that you cannot punish people for almost doing something. It has ruined and entire season of time I spent watching basketball. You have upset the balance in favor of a very good sportsman-like team. Is the message of the NBA that you can get away with DIRTY play???? That is what I see at this point.

After watching how the ref's were called in the spurs/jazz game 4 on wednesday I can see why the sun's were upset. I think that stern should investigate the ref's for taking bribes from the spur owners to make sure they don't get all the fouls that they are making. the ref's are blind. The spurs don't know how to play a fair game. They know opposing team players around and don't get fouls. Do the ref's need glasses. David Stern is such a chicken s--t that he doesn't even have an email site on the nba website where you can notify him with your concerns or questions. Maybe he should be replaced or maybe he is also taking bribes. It's clear that he doesn't like the UTAH JAZZ, but that is okay, because we don't like him.
